The Story

Lawrence is a rack-mount XLR continuity tester designed for high-volume cable testing needs, such as returned cable cases in rental shops. As a pass/fail tester, Lawrence doesn’t evaluate what’s wrong with the cable; he just quickly determines whether it’s wired correctly, without any open, shorted or crossed conductors, so it can be sent to the repair shop if needed.

In various configurations, Lawrence has the capability to test XLR-3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, as well as EtherCON. Standard configuration is 3, 4, 5, 7, and EtherCON, but either the XLR-7 or the EtherCON can be swapped for XLR-6 if necessary.

He also has selectable 3- or 5-pin testing of DMX cables, so if your DMX cables are XLR-5 but only wired with one pair + ground, Lawrence can be configured to test them without errors.
