Veteran’s Bridge, Toledo
Monitoring Network Devices

The Veterans’ Glass City Skyway is a high-profile bridge over the Maumee River in Toledo, OH. The tower of the bridge features 193 Lumenpulse fixtures connected to 9 CBXs, as well as 10 network devices that control the stunning architectural lighting inside the’s bridge’s frosted glass tower.
The Problem
The bridge is a highly visible landmark in downtown Toledo, so keeping the architectural lighting working at all times is very important. The Ohio Department of Transportation needed an easy way to monitor the system, so that maintenance could be performed and the lighting restored as quickly as possible after a problem arose.
The Solution
Horatio monitors the health of all fixtures and network devices spread throughout the bridge and sends real-time alerts to the bridge’s maintenance staff when devices go offline. The alerts include data on exactly which device is down and for how long, allowing them to respond to problems quickly and restore lighting with minimal downtime.
